If the previous ECU file owner is reluctant to transfer to the license because of intellectual property (tuning), then yes, he can simply copy/paste the standard fuel maps from a standard unrestricted file and then transfer the license over to you. …

Your license won't be married to your ECU until you flash it for the first time. Do you have a similar file open in the treeview pane on the left side of the Tuning Suite before clicking Device>Read ECU?
-
I'm not sure what you mean by "just like in the original software"? You can control engine braking by modifying the maps in the ETV Base Maps.

Please conduct the 4-pin hardware test on your flash harness: https://forum.ftecu.com/discussion/416/attention-hardware-test-for-4-pin-bike-side-harness#latest

Are you getting an error message? Or are you just trying to read the file in the ECU?
-
You can change your forum username in your user profile in "My Account".

There was a server swap in July of last year that inadvertently resulted in a loss of auto-update for those who have not downloaded the latest version. Please uninstall your current tuning suite software (go to Features Apps, uninstall the software,…

Injector Decel Cut has no effect on engine braking. It only affects off-throttle response. Your PCV map likely isn't tuned correctly for your application.

When you first use Active Tune, it is starting completely from scratch, so you want to save the first trim tables to your base map so that it has a good starting point the next time you start the engine. Depending on your riding, you may want to sav…

We cannot create a file for that ECU without physically having the ECU here in our possession, because that ECU type is not natively readable.
-
You need to go through your engine's fuel system thoroughly to check for any issues that would be restricting fuel delivery.
-
What is the part number of your ECU?
-
Sorry, I was out for over a month due to COVID-19. The dev team is still working to resolve the problem on this.
-
The MT-09 uses a Type 16 Bench harness. You need to look at the ECU sticker to find the part number and match that with the files in the Tuning Suite database. It's likely that it uses the same part number as the previous models.

Our address is: FTECU Inc. 1010 N. Batavia St. Suite J Orange, CA 92867 Please include a note with all of your contact info, plus the year/make/model of bike, and its market country (where it is sold).

You change the idle rpm by advancing the ignition in very small increments. The two different fuel maps are a feature that is in many ECUs, but it's unknown how to switch between the maps. Use SW1, but if you do not notice any difference in the AFRs…

Yes, if you have multiple licenses in your account, the license assignment is on the next available virgin license.

Hi, Apologies for the mix-up. If you are installing the Type 4 bike-side kit for the late model Kawasaki Ninja 650, you use the Type 4 instructions labeled for the 2018 EX400. The instruction label has been updated in the Document page.

As stated above, there is no reset file for that ECU. Please flash the correct stock ECU image file into the ECU and it should return to normal.
-
You need to send us your ECU so that we can create a file for it, because we do not have a file for the 1377 ECU. You could run into problems if you flash the 1371 into your ECU.
-
You must make sure that the ECU part number is the same as the file part number, otherwise you will encounter problems.
-
The stock O2 sensor only deals with idle and very small throttle settings. You may some other issue that isn't related to the flash that is causing the bike to not run correctly. For example, what is the condition of the fuel in the tank?
-
We do not have that file in our database. However, that ECU is natively readable, so all you need to do is get a flash kit, plug it in, and read out the files; they are automatically emailed to us to define in order to create a file for your ECU.
-
It depends on what is triggering the error codes. But our file for the 2018 R6 allows you to see what the codes are using the Diagnostic Code Manage feature.
-
Hi, Sorry about the delay. Your license was in attempted state because of an issue during the flash process, so it has been reset, it should be good to go.
-
Your license is in "attempted" state due to a problem during the flash process. We can reset it but I want to make sure that you have your current file saved somewhere because when the license is reset, any tune file in the ECU is lost.
-
Did you do any modifications to the files that you were attempting to flash?
-
What is your ECU part number? You need to check the sticker on top of the ECU.

No, the SET valve is mostly used for noise suppression. No harm will come to the engine or the catalyzer with the valve set in the open position.
