Immobilizer and EU bikes

HI,

I want to flash an European R1 RN49 (BX4-8591A-30). As I may want to sell the bike as street legal bike somewhen in the future, I thought it is a good idea to first take a backup of the current ECU to get the immobilizer "code" saved.

Unfortunately the software tells me, that the ECU isn't native readable.

I plan to write the ECU with the US version as I want to remove the immobilizer (and the key) while using the bike as track bike.

Does this cause problems with the immobilizer when I reapply the EU factory image of the ECU?

    Hi,

That ECU is not natively readable so you cannot read it out till it has been flashed with our software. We keep all stock files readily available for any user that wants to use them. They are located in the Tuning Suite software.

If you want to flash the US file into your bike you'll also need to swap your injector and coil wires to match a US bike firing order.

    Thanks,

    Jason A.
