ftecu wont download update or new install from website

i have used ft successfully last year and tried again recently but software said needed to update which i attempted but just stalled at 99% and now the program wont even start i have uninstalled and attempted to download latest version from the website but when opening setup.exe nothing happens i have tried turning off windows defender and all security but still nothing any ideas?

    There is no virus with our software but your antivirus is flagging it as one. Here are some things that may help but there are different antivirus protection on different computers.

     

    *If the software doesn’t open then there is a problem with Microsoft defender

    - You will want to add our software as an exception

     

    *If the software won’t download that’s a problem with the browser

    - You can try using a different browser such as firefox, edge or chrome

     

    Another thing to try would be, you can go to settings> privacy and security> windows security> open windows security> protection history> and then there should be a box with a drop down for our software where you can allow it to download.

     

    If you ever get a prompt or see anything to "mark as safe", “run anyway”, “Allow” or "keep" for our software make sure to do that.

     

    *Running the software in a virtual machine works as well

    I have tried the above steps but no success I have downloaded the setup file but when opening it shows checking for install package and checking server and then the progress bar disappears
