This is a work around for flashing any Yamaha 7 series bike, including, R7, MT07, FZ07,Tenere 700, and XSR700.
THIS IS ONLY APPLICABLE TO THE VERY FIRST FLASH OF AN ECU USING A BIKE SIDE HARNESS!
To begin your flash make sure the bike is off. Make sure the harness is plugged into the computer and NOT the bike harness.
Begin the flash like normal click OK through the first couple of steps WITHOUT plugging the data cable in to the bike harness.
This is the most important step.
On the SECOND prompt for KEY ON plug in the harness and power on the bike. You will have about 30sec to do this step. You will know this has worked if the fuel pump does not prime after turning the key to on. Continue following all prompts to finish the flash.
If it does prime start over from the beginning. If it fails again this may indicate a separate issue with the bike.
After you do this for the first time you can flash the ECU like normal following all prompts in the software suite.
