Ignition tuning

Hi,

I'm wanting to tune out the snatchy throttle on my 2017 R1. I've done a lot of experimenting with the activetune target AFR's and found a pretty sweet spot. I'm still struggling with the 4,000rpm area though.

I was thinking about using the ignition timing to help, will advancing the ignition around this area help?

I was also considering trying ignition changes with the FTECU AFR targets, to see how that works as that map has felt good in the past. Was the AFR table developed on a dyno and is it suitable for a de cat exhaust and K&N airfilter?

Thanks

    Hi,

There are a lot of things you can adjust to help with this. Obviously you want to make sure you fueling TPS and MAP is spot on. I would also suggest looking at your ETV Basemaps, maybe you could smooth out a few areas in there to help with your current issue. You can play around with Ignition but I'd think you can properly adjust in the fueling and ETV maps.

Everything is developed on the dyno and/or tested on the racetrack in addition.

    Thanks,

    Jason A.
