“No Registered ECU Found” / Prompted to Purchase a License

If the Tuning Suite displays “No Registered ECU Found” and asks you to purchase another license, DO NOT purchase a new license yet.

This message does not necessarily mean your existing license is gone. In many cases, the ECU or license is simply in a recovery state because the previous flash did not complete or verify correctly.

What to Check

Before attempting another write:

  • Completely disconnect the ECU from the flashing harness and power, then start fresh.
  • Follow every Tuning Suite connect, disconnect, Key On, and Key Off prompt exactly. Perform the requested action before clicking OK.
  • Verify the flashing harness and connections are secure.
  • Verify the file you are flashing matches the ECU part number. (This does not apply if a FTECU support staff has directed you to use a different file)
  • Make sure you are flashing the same ECU that is registered to the license.

After every write or failed attempt, fully disconnect the ECU before beginning another write.

Still Getting the Message?

Please contact us at sales@ftecu.com before purchasing another license.

Include your year, make, model, ECU part number, exact error message, and the file you are attempting to flash.

Do not purchase and use another license just to bypass this message. Doing so may cause paid features associated with the existing license to be lost, and used licenses cannot be refunded.
