Race Team License Information

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to make this post to clarify how our Race Team licenses work.

Unlike a standard ECU license, Race Team licenses are not automatically applied to your account after purchase. Each Race Team license must be manually assigned by a member of our team. This helps prevent mistakes or incorrect license assignments

Once your Race Team license has been applied, the associated Race Team file will not appear under the Public Files tab in the File Manager within the Tuning Suite. Instead, you will find it under the My Account tab.

Please also note that once your ECU has been flashed with a Race Team file, you cannot flash it back to a standard unrestricted or stock file. If you need to perform an ECU readout in the future, you must first open the corresponding Race Team file in the Tuning Suite before taking the readout.

If you decide to switch to a third-party tuning company that does not use our software, they should be able to overwrite the ECU. However, doing so will remove any Race Team features that were enabled and overwrite the license association with the ECU. Once this happens, you will no longer be able to flash the Race Team file back onto that ECU using the original Race Team license, and a new Race Team license will be required.

If you decide to sell your bike with a flashed Race Team file, we recommend informing the buyer that the ECU contains a Race Team file and transferring the Race Team license to them so they can continue making changes to the ECU.
