My Bike already has an O2 sensor why do I need a special kit?

Most OEMs use narrow-band O2 sensors...

These sensors are great for their purpose but their purpose is to measure deviation rich or lean from stoichiometry, or the perfect ratio for complete combustion. When the ratio deviates more than a couple tenths in either direction the precise amount of deviation cant reliably be measured.

Due to inefficiencies in combustion, a mixture much richer than stoichiometry is required to make peak power. Typically peak power occurs around a mixture of 13 parts air to 1 part fuel by mass whereas stoichiometry for gasoline is 14.7:1.

Our ActiveTune kit directly replaces the stock narrow-band sensor with a high quality bosch sensor capable of reliably measuring ratios between 10:1 and 20:1and thus allowing the ECU to tune itself in real time to achieve peak performance.
