Can I read an ECU flashed by someone else?

I have a DataLink cable for my XSR900. My Yamaha FJ-09 was also flashed by Motorsport Exotica with a bike side harness. When I try to read the ECU it tells me that no registered ECU is found. My main purpose in reading the ECU was to try and find the FTECU license number so that I can call them and have them transfer the license to my account.

    Hi,

    You can try to read or write the ECU and see if a license number comes up. If not then bring the ECU back to Motorsport Exotica and have them flash it to find the license number.
